Date: Sun 12-May-1989 03:45:39 From: Unknown Subject: mail to X@localhost; TechReport Is mail to 'some-mailbox@localhost' supposed to work? I keep getting it rejected, apparently by the sendmail SMTP daemon. I'm trying to use TechReport, but I can't find any documentation on how to set up the mailing address. Doing a strings on it and looking for something that looks like an address or an alias, I found "nereportb@localhost". Is this how it's done, by setting up the "nereportb" alias? I have set it up, and sent the report, but it came back: Date: Thu, 11 May 89 22:36:19 CDT From: Mailer-Daemon (Mail Delivery Subsystem) Subject: Returned mail: Service unavailable To: gore ----- Transcript of session follows ----- Connected to localhost: >>> HELO jacob.eecs.nwu.edu <<< 553 jacob.eecs.nwu.edu host name configuration error 554 nereportb@localhost...
