This is SMPTE-sync in view mode; [Up]

Date: Sun 01-Jun-1989 21:23:57 From: Unknown Subject: SMPTE sync I'm trying to synchronize NeXT soundfile playback with SMPTE code from a 3/4" video deck. I've started looking into commercially available black boxes which convert SMPTE into a (presumably) useful stream of serial data, but I haven't even begun to consider the potentially nasty software needed on the NeXT end to keep the sound playback in step with the SMPTE clock. Also, by far the cheapest of these black boxes converts SMPTE to midi clock bytes. Has anyone successfully read midi data from a NeXT port yet? Has anyone else pondered these weighty matters? Any advice? >From: isbell@boulder.Colorado.EDU (Art Isbell)
