Date: Sun 31-May-1989 00:55:54 From: Unknown Subject: Fixing 'talk' in 0.9 Edit the file '/etc/inetd.conf'. For the line 'ntalk' change the daemon to /usr/etc/talkd from /usr/etc/nalkd Make no other changes to that line. The 'ntalk' daemon for the NeXT is apparently called 'talkd'. In fact, the original 'talkd' didn't work with 'inetd' so the line for 'talk' probably is useless, but I kept it in for good measure. The 'storm.tiff' is really hidden. I found it in /dev/od0a: /MyDisk/Programming/Demos/.scene/screens The movie file for the eagle is there under ../movies but it references a file called 'birds.ps' (you have to change the path). Since the movies are both postscript programs, I can't get them to run with scene. Preview and yap seem to have problems with them. I heard some mention of 'yap' changing so that one couldn't watch it 'running' a program. Only the final result could be seen. Perhaps this 'feature' makes it impossible to see movies anymore? -ron fellman >From: babcock@adobe.COM (Rob Babcock)
