Date: Sun 09-Jul-1989 07:13:04 From: Unknown Subject: Hardware reviews of the NeXT... I'm looking at the NeXT as a possible computer to buy for personal use. I'm an EE and believe that a computer's hardware should be as elegant as its software, so I like to know how the NeXT is put together. In particular, I'd like to know what's inside those two VLSIs mentioned in the Byte "initial impression" article about eight months back. I've done some research and have been stymied by the lack of technical info at out University's library. I was told to look at two issues of _Computer Design_ but, alas, our library doesn't subscribe. So, are there any hot articles out there that I should know about? Thanks, Lee p.s. Does anybody know what's intended to go into that big grid-array socket shown in the upper-right hand on the system board pictured in the Byte article?
