Date: Sun 02-Jul-1989 07:20:54 From: Unknown Subject: Anyone know about Modem software for the NeXT? I called Telebit and suggested that they translate whatever firmware they have in the T1000 to the NeXT so it can act as a Trailblazer-Plus, but my advice thus far has fallen on deaf ears (maybe if others call and recommend it?). Anyway, for those who don't know, the NeXT computer can theoretically act as a high speed modem (and a FAX machine and....) with a tiny bit of hardware glue to get to the phone lines. If anyone knows of a company who is doing or wants help doing a modem for the NeXT, please drop me a note; I'd be willing to help create such a piece of software. Charles clp@wjh12.harvard.edu P.S. -- Is there enough info. published about high-speed modem standards that I'd have a shot writing this from scratch? I know Telebit's stuff is proprietary, but what about....(insert your favorite protocol). >From: clp@wjh12.harvard.edu (Charles L. Perkins)
