Date: Sun 14-Apr-1989 18:22:47 From: Unknown Subject: X-11 may show up on NeXT I've noticed a number of "if X were only available on NeXT" sort of articles appearing here lately. Well, Jim Bruce of MIT is cited in an article on page 6 of the April 10th "PC Week" as saying that porting X to the Next is in the initial stages. PC Week says that it is expected that X windows will be opened from inside of Display Postscript windows. Apparently Next and MIT have to agree who is going to do what with respect to the project so it still very much vaporware, although completion of the software is hoped for the 3rd quater of 1989.
