Date: Sun 08-Jan-1989 20:11:36 From: Unknown Subject: Soft power switch - bug or feature? Has anyone figured out how to disable the soft power switch? The problem which I have experienced is that if power is lost while the NeXT system is powered up and running, the system stays off when power is restored. I had this problem this weekend. I was at home doing some work on the NeXT system (via a TELNET connection). There was a momentary power interruption, and the NeXT system stayed off. I had to telephone in, and find someone to push the stupid little button on the keyboard to power the system up again. Is there a way around this? Can something be jumpered to have this thing stay powered on? I was also dead in the water last week when the MegaPixal monitor crapped out. Can't power the system up without a working keyboard and monitor, even though the cube (CPU, ethernet and 600MB disk) worked just find. Couldn't get at my data until the display was replaced.
