John (and others), NeXT is a small company (about 200 people), so to provide support to their large market -- and education is a large market -- they have formed a support hierarchy. Every institution that purchases NeXTs has some sort of local point of contact for support. Your first best bet would be to talk to your campus support people. If you don't know who they are, try talking to the people on your campus that do the NeXT ordering/purchasing. If your local support people haven't heard of the bug before or don't know the fix (if one exists), they will then get in touch with NeXT. The next time that someone on your campus reports the same bug to your support people, they will be able to respond immediately without involving NeXT -- a bug cache. I believe that if someone from your campus does try to bypass the support people and go directly to NeXT, they may get their question answered, but they will also be politely told the names of their campus support people whom they call on in the future. The hierarchy insures that there are some local NeXTsperts and helps reduce the question/answer load on NeXT, letting them work on fixing the bugs and making the NeXT better. If you don't have any NeXTs on campus, which isn't your problem, John, you might try sending your questions to this news group.
