Date: Sun 17-Dec-1989 17:42:01 From: flynn@pixel.cps.msu.edu (Patrick J. Flynn) Subject: LaTeX: book.sty Has anyone noticed that the book.sty file in the 1.0 TeX distribution isn't TeX source? When I tried to run a chapter of my dissertation (which uses the book style) through LaTeX, it complained. Here's the first few lines (I removed a blank line): >% book.sty 26-May-89 >LATEST VERSIONS OF FILES -- LaTeX Version 2.09 >ADDENDUM.TEX 27 Apr 89 ARTICLE.DOC/STY 16 Mar 88 LATEX.BUG 24 May 89 >IDX.TEX 22 Jan 85 ART10.DOC/STY 22 Dec 87 LATEX.DIF 28 Apr 88 >LABLST.TEX 5 Jan 85 ART11.DOC/STY 22 Dec 87 LATEX.INS 20 Sep 88 For comparison, here's the first few lines of book.sty from labrea.stanford.edu. >% book.sty 13-Nov-89 >\typeout{Document Style `book' <24 Nov 89>.} >\def\@ptsize{0} \@namedef{ds@11pt}{\def\@ptsize{1}} >\@namedef{ds@12pt}{\def\@ptsize{2}} >\@twosidetrue \@mparswitchtrue \def\ds@draft{\overfullrule 5pt} >\@options >\input bk1\@ptsize.sty\relax I replaced the original book.sty with the labrea version. Things seem to work all right with that change. See ya -- Pat
