Date: Sun 08-Aug-1989 13:18:26 From: Unknown Subject: a dumb question This is dumb question: How do I get an application to use the icon that I want it to? In the few applications I've built, I set the icon name (including .tiff) in the proper place in the project, and yes, it is also set in the Makefile APPICON (or whatever), but no matter what I do, I always get the standard application icon. Even applications I get off the net, and even the ones in /NextDeveloper always come up with the standard one rather than the one specified. Any ideas? Drop the executable in ~/Apps, do "Find Tools" from the Workspace "Utilities" menu, and see if it works. This question came up about 2 weeks ago; I went into more detail back then as to why the icons are so picky about showing up. Amazingly, 3.5 months of comp.sys.next only occupy about 1 Meg. -------------------- Brad Carlson <carlson@mrcnext.cso.uiuc.edu> or <brad-carlson@uiuc.edu> University of Illinos--Micro Resource Center--NeXT guru >From: jal@ee.rochester.edu (John Lefor)
