Date: Sun 11-Aug-1989 15:50:31 From: Unknown Subject: Using a Sun as a boot server I am trying to configure a SUN 3/160 running Sun OS 4.0.3 as a boot server for a Next. At this point the system boots just fine off the Sun until init tries to open the console for the login window. Then the tty console comes up and displays the message: /usr/lib/NextStep/WindowServer console failing, sleeping This is displayed for a few seconds and then the cycle starts again. The same thing happened at Next support camp when they tried to set up a bootserver and client there. I had to make a dash for the airport so I did not find out what the problem is. Has anyone else run into this ? Mark Nichols mnichols@nmsu.edu Networking Group / Worstation Support New Mexico State University >From: fpt@unccvax.UUCP (fred p toth)
