Subject: Pixar discontinuing product development?

Sorry to fill the airwaves today.

I heard today that Pixar has lost/dumped most of the people working on
product development in favor of "making movies" (i.e. morphing
everything in sight). I was told that this is not news; it is not a
recent event.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Is there any evidence that it could be
true? Why would someone "in the industry" have this impression?
