Subject: RiPointsLines vs. RiLine

A Quick Renderman question:

When would I want to use RiPointsLines. RiLine does a polyline, and I
can't figure out what the added value of RiPointsLines is.

Is it for networks of line segments? Is its sole purpose to limit the
number of times you have to send the same point data across?

This is an example of the biggest roadblock to using the things in Quick
Renderman (other than the fact that they don't print on the NeXT, of
course): no information other than the "spec" on how the things should
be used. No real examples. No 3rd-party book to distill it out.

At least we have the Renderman mailing list!
