This is the README for appnmail.1.8.s.bs.tgz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
This is appnmail from Carl Edman's mailapp-utilities (1.8) compiled for use under Solaris, so it can be used if your NEXTSTEP/OpenStep machine is mounting from a Solaris mail server. It also includes GNU regex (0.12), modified to support NEXTSTEP regex API. This collection is in no way considered to be nice and well written. I just did all the hacking (also in Makefiles created by ./configure) necessary to get it to compile and run. I think appnmail shouldn't be compiled with -O2, at least not on gcc 2.7.1, otherwise it doesn't work (I haven't verified this, I just left it in the state it was when it worked). If you want to know what is different from the original versions, just grab the files from any server near you and perform diffs. If you want to recompile it, first do a make in the regex directory and then in the mailapp-utilities directory. Otherwise you will get a lot of compilation errors. If you think it is useful, feel free to use it, but there is absolutely no warranty, neither expressed nor implied (you get what you pay for). My changes are implemented under GPL (GNU Public License). In the improbable case I should ever think of making an update, you might find it on ftp://ftp.tik.ee.ethz.ch/pub/people/mwa/ Marcel Waldvogel (5.5.97) mwa@tik.ee.ethz.ch or mwa@acm.org
