README for NeXplorer 1.0 (Beta) for OpenStep 4.2 for Windows
-------------------------------------------------------------

DESCRIPTION
-----------

NeXplorer is a freely available OPENSTEP fileviewer for Windows NT. It has been written for
those people who spend most of their day under Windows and have to painstakingly bear
navigating the file system using the tools that Windows provides for them.

It consists of the following components

	* FileViewer with a filebrowser and an iconpath
	* A resizable shelf for placing commonly accessed files, folders, or applications
	* A panel for sending Email
	* A preferences panel for setting various application preferences
	* An inspector panel for viewing information about specific files or folders
	* ToolBar

See the FEATURES section below for more information on each of these components. Visit the
NeXplorer web site (http://www.serv.net/~khans) for more information including more in-depth
description of its features, known bugs, and screenshots.

IMPORTANT NOTE
--------------

File operations have been disabled for this release. Dragging a document into a folder will
not copy or move it. Similarly setting permissions in the inspector will not actually change
the permissions in the file system.
